Questions roofing owners ask before hiring us

Short, honest answers to the questions roofing owners ask about recruiting marketing: cost, contracts, timing, ownership and the things we deliberately don't do.

These are the questions roofing owners ask us most, answered briefly. If yours isn't here, call, text or email; we'd rather answer it directly than leave you guessing.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost?

The entry plan is $1,999 monthly, or $1,499 monthly if billed for a year, and roofing clients add GST/HST based on their province (GST and QST in Quebec). What you spend on job boards and ad platforms is a separate budget that you set.

Are we locked into a contract?

No. You can stay on monthly terms and stop with 30 days' notice. Paying annually is optional; it just brings the monthly rate down.

How fast will we see applicants?

Ads can usually go live within one to two weeks of your approval. A meaningful read on cost per screened applicant takes about three to four weeks of running.

We tried a recruiter and an agency before. Why would this be different?

A recruiter charges per placement and owns the candidate relationship; we don't. Unlike many agencies, we report hires still on the crew after two weeks, not clicks, and we fix reply speed before spending more on ads.

Who owns the ads, pages and applicant list?

You do. Ad accounts, careers pages, video files and your applicant list belong to your company. If you leave, they stay with you.

Are you a staffing agency?

No. We don't place, employ or pay workers, and we never charge job seekers. We market your openings; you interview and hire.

Are you a roofing contractor?

No. We are a marketing and business consulting service. We don't install, repair or inspect roofs.

Can you tell us what wage to advertise?

No. We don't publish or recommend wage figures. If you decide to show a pay range, we make it clear in the ad, and you confirm any posting requirements with your province.

Do you help with fall-protection training?

No. Safety training is set and enforced provincially and delivered by qualified providers. We feature the training you actually run and link the official provincial bodies on each region page.

Do you give HR or employment-law advice?

No. For job-posting rules, employment standards or human rights questions, speak with your provincial employment standards office or an employment lawyer.

Can you promise a set number of hires?

No one honest can promise hires. We promise clear numbers, a plan built on your own data and monthly changes based on what the numbers show.

What will our monthly report show?

Applicants, time to first reply, screened applicants, interviews or trial days, hires, and two-week retention, broken down by role and source.

Do you work with small roofing companies?

Yes, if you have steady work and at least one seat you keep struggling to fill. A small company with a clear plan often sees the fastest change.

Can you recruit in French for Quebec?

Yes, with a qualified translator. Quebec has French-language rules for commercial content; our Quebec page links the OQLF so you can check them.

About cost and commitment

A roofing company can start on the Growth plan at $1,999 monthly, or $1,499 monthly on a yearly commitment, before GST/HST. You will never see a placement fee or a charge per hire, and leaving takes 30 days' notice. The pricing page compares the three plans and explains what drives cost, including how many roles and locations you hire for.

The money you spend on the ads themselves is separate from our fee. We suggest starting small, testing for a few weeks and scaling only what produces screened applicants.

About what we do and don't do

We do recruiting marketing: ads, careers pages, crew video, fast applicant replies and an off-season bench. The services page explains each one and how to choose.

We don't:

  • install, repair or inspect roofs (we are not a contractor)
  • place, employ or pay workers, or charge job seekers (we are not a staffing agency)
  • set or publish wages
  • give legal, HR or safety advice

That last point matters in roofing. Fall protection and other safety training are governed provincially. Job-posting rules and employment standards are provincial too. We point you to the official sources on each region page and leave interpretation to the right people.

About timing

Recruiting marketing works best with lead time. In most of Canada, roofing hiring piles into a short window before the busy season, and every company competes at once. Starting in late autumn or winter lets you build a bench, test ads and fix replies before the rush. Our hiring season calendar breaks it down by region.

If you need someone by next week, we will tell you honestly that marketing may not be the fastest route.

About proof and reporting

Our published results are from HVAC marketing work, and we label them that way. The results page explains what transfers to hiring and what doesn't. For your account, we report the same funnel every month, ending with people still on the crew after two weeks.

About ownership and leaving

Everything we build for you is yours: ad accounts, careers pages, video files, the applicant list and the tracking sheet. We set them up under your company's name from the start, so there is nothing to hand back if you leave. If you stop working with us, we help you take over the day-to-day running, including passwords and a short note on what each campaign was doing.

About working alongside your office

Most roofing companies, small or large, have one or two people in the office juggling customer calls, scheduling and hiring. We don't replace them. We take the marketing and first replies off their desk, then hand them a short daily list of screened applicants to call. If you already use a recruiter for some roles, we can work alongside them; we simply track our applicants separately so the numbers stay honest.

About safety, pay and the law

These questions come up in nearly every first call, so here is the plain answer. We don't set or publish wages, we don't write safety programs, and we don't give HR or employment-law advice. What we will do is make sure your hiring content describes the training you really provide and the pay information you choose to share, accurately and clearly. For the rules themselves, your region page links the official bodies.
